Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

My life before covid was great. I worked as a medical secretary in a doctors office. I loved my job. I was a busy mum with two young girls and happily married. I did have on/off dizziness for 15 years. At times frustrating but extremely manageable.

Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

I was so excited to get my vaccine on 02/21/2021. This was what I had been waiting for. Right after my jab I felt a dizziness but didn't think much of it. As expected I got a high fever for two days. On day 6 I felt head pressure, extreme vertigo with vomiting and tinnitus. I walked all night outside on my terrace throwing up. I was on sick leave for 2 weeks.

The AstraZeneca vaccine then got removed from the danish vaccination program and I was offered Pfizer in May. My doctor told me that no way could Pfizer give me any side effects. So I got it.

My dizziness became 24/7, often vertigo for 2-24 hours, pins and needles, internal tremor, insomnia, fatigue, vision problems, fullness in ears, stomach problems.

Q: What is your life like now, after getting the vaccine?

I have a chronic floating vertigo, heart palpitations, internal tremors. Most days I need support when walking. Vertigo attacks comes from out of nowhere which gives me anxiety. It is a nightmare.

When I walk it feels like I walk on a trampoline, I cant go to the supermarket, because that triggers my dizziness.

I have cancelled all social life because of this. I have been on sick leave since May and got fired from my job.

Q: Share your experience with any medical care and any diagnoses you have received:

My medical journey has been very unhelpful. No one knows what happened. And most doctors have either laughed at me or didn't believe me. I have had blood work, MRI, lumbar puncture and holter monitor.

I have seen 4 different ENT’s, 3 neuros, cardio, audio. No one knows. Some doctors admits that they have spoken to many vaccine injured but don't know what to do.

Maybe I have vestibular migraine and PPPD now.

You are left alone. Alone to fight for answers.

Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?

My reaction has been reported by my doctor and myself. I have tried to contact AstraZeneca but no luck.

I feel like I did what was told. I took a vaccine to protect myself, others and my patients. Now no one protects me.

My life has changed - forever. My health had changed and my view on our health system. It has failed.

Q: Is there anything that has helped, and have your symptoms improved?

Time. I take a lot of supplements but I think time is the key. At some point I thought I was doing better, but then comes a flare. This flare has lasted for a month now. And the dizziness and head pressure are awful. I feel it 24/7 and it controls everything in my life.

Q: What do you wish others knew?

I’am not anti-vax. I was so happy to get the vaccine, but now I am injured. Just because you are not or don't know a vaccine injured person - doesn't mean this isn't happening. There are so many of us injured and we need help!
