Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

I was healthy.


Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

Shot - 8-27-2021 - slight soreness in injection site.


9-18-2021: Broke out in hives - upper body: front and back. Experienced low grade fever. Cold sores in mouth. For next 2 weeks - experiencing hot flashes, occasional headaches and low grade fever.


10-18-2021 - after experiencing low grade fever without any relief - went to UMC Urgent Care – Dr. S. Simoneta: prescribed Doxycycline – 100 mg capsules – take 1 capsule (100 mg in morning and 1 capsule at night – for 7 days). Methylprednisolone 4mg tablets – Levocetirizine – 5mg. Completed treatment.


11-8-2021: went to Chiropractor (been seeing him for 2 years).. Experiencing pain in shoulder and upper back. Saw chiropractor 11-8-2021 Adjustment went well – joint pain in both shoulders. Pain did not go away until I started Prednisone.


11-9-2021: Primary physician (Kaiser – San Marcos, CA) – Dr. Phuong Lee-Carter had me go into laboratory to have blood work drawn (12 vials) taken.


11-10-2021: Had visit with Primary physical – Dr. Phuong Lee-Carter to go over lab work. Referral to Rheumatologist – Dr. Zejin Zhu.


11-11-2021: Teleconference call with Rheumatologist – Dr. Zejin Zhu. Been experiencing constant pain in right hand, continued pain in shoulders and shortness of breath. Dr. Zhu prescribed: Prednisone 30mg for 14 days, 20mg for 30 days and then 15 mg for 30 days – with breakfast. In addition – Hydroxychloroquine 200 mg was prescribed – 1-1/2 tablets daily with meal- evening.


11-11-2021 to current – taking prescribed medications from Rheumatologist – Dr. Zejin Zhu.


11-25-2021 – as per prescribed – went lower dose Prednisone 20mg for next 30 days. After a few days – not feeling so jumpy. Maybe lower dose helps. 11-25 through 12-16-2021. Still experiencing some good and bad days. I noticed that blood sugar drops making me shaky. Increasing protein in diet (eggs, eating snack every 3 hours (cottage cheese/fruit, 2-3 crackers with cream cheese or fruit).


12-16-2021 – Appointment for blood work –


12-19-2021 – Kaiser – San Marcos After blood work came back - Dr had me discontinue Hydroxychloroquine 200 mg was prescribed – 1-1/2 tablets daily with meal- evening - Liver functions from the blood tests came back elevated comparison from blood work 12/19/21 to 12/23/21


Q; What is your life like now, after getting the vaccine?

Day to day existence. Still have issues with blood sugar dropping / taking Glucerna to help with blood sugar and eating small meals every 2 hours.

Low dose of prednisone


Q: What do you wish others knew?

I don't think you should take the shot.
