Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

I had some medical challenges the past few years. Stage 3-4 colon cancer, remission since 2014, had reconstructive surgery on my foot in 2017 and 2018. I try to be as active as possible with my teenage son and love to travel. We've been on several international trips up until the Covid shutdown, and took a week trip to Yellowstone in 2020, in the middle of the shutdown. We try to be very active.

Q: Would you like to share your reasons for getting vaccinated?

I didn't want to get Covid.

Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

Three days after my first dose, I started having stroke like symptoms. I was numb on my left side, arms, legs face, etc. I couldn't walk. I was taken to the emergency room, where they performed numerous tests (CT, Chest x-ray, ultrasound of arteries, MRI, etc.) I was checked in and stayed in the hospital for one night. The symptoms subsided the next day and I was released. Two days later, I started feeling really odd again, like I did before I went numb during the first event. I got a severe headache. I went back to the ER and they kept me for several hours, treating me for the pain of the headache, but the numbness didn't come back, so they released me. After I got home, I went to sleep, but when I got up, the left side of my face was numb and I had some weakness in my left arm and leg. I followed up with my doctor, who sent me to a neurologist. He ordered another MRI and prescribed Gabapentin.

At this point, the doctors all said this couldn't be from the vaccine and must be caused by stress. So, I had the second dose of the vaccine. Fortunately, I had no side effects other than some fatigue, which was temporary.

It's been 18 months since my stroke like symptoms. I still have numbness in my face and periodic headaches. All on the left side of my face and head. The headaches are by my left temple and occasionally, I have extremely sharp pains there that last about 10 seconds and then subside.

The Gabapentin does relatively little to help the symptoms.

Now, the doctors tell me these symptoms probably were caused by the vaccine and I've read several studies describing the exact same symptoms that I had, that others experienced in the same time frame, within 72 hours after the first vaccine.

Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?

I have not reported my reaction. I don't expect to get a response from it.

Q: Are there any treatments we should know about that helped or hurt your health?

I was prescribed Gabapentin, but it does very little.

Q: Have you had Covid before?

I had Covid in July 2022. I had a fever and felt lousy for two days, then felt some fatigue for a few days.

Q: What do you wish others knew?

The vaccine is dangerous. You're better off seeing how you do getting Covid and avoiding what I'm going through. Having half your face numb constantly is very uncomfortable as are the headaches and sharp pains.
