Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

Prior to the vaccine, I was working as a RN full time. I was a 32 year old Mom of 2 active boys, carting them to practices and games. I am also a military spouse. I was active & healthy.

Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

Within 15 minutes after receiving the first dose, I felt tingling down my left hand. I was slightly concerned, but thought maybe they hit a nerve. I stopped at a store on my way home and had to leave due to a wave of dizziness. That night I suffered from insomnia and panic for no reason with no history of panic attacks prior. The days following I suffered severe fatigue and heavy arms. I went to get my second dose reluctantly and started suffering from left sided numbness and tingling, hemifacial spasm, tremors, joint pain, insomnia lasting 7 days at a time with no medication offering any relief. Prior to this a Benadryl would’ve knocked me out. I began having tachycardia up to 200bpm without any cause, hypertension, chest pains, blurred vision, dizziness, eye floaters and caffeine intolerance. It’s been 10 months and Im currently in my home with an EEG home monitor on for 72hours checking for seizures. I am not recovered.

Q: What was your life like after you got the vaccine?

After receiving the vaccine, my life was flipped upside down. I tried to continue working as an RN, but eventually took FMLA . I could no longer drive my children to practices, I could no longer care for my family the way I always had. I can’t exercise or drink coffee without an exacerbation of symptoms. My kids had a shell of a Mom. I couldn’t travel to see my family. We are a military family and live thousands of miles from our family. Around 6 months, my symptoms drastically worsened and I had to leave my job. I have been to doctors weekly for 10 months. I have had thousands of dollars of medical tests with no answers.

Q: Share your experience with any medical care and any diagnoses you have received:

My primary care doctor initially checked all of my labs & told me this could be from the vaccine, but there’s a lot they don’t know about it. This was early on as I was one of the first to receive the vaccine as a healthcare worker. When my symptoms worsened, she sent me to the ER several times for chest pain, numbness and tingling and insomnia. I saw her 15-20x since January. Prior to that I had only gone to the physician every 6-12 months for routine check ups or illnesses. I have seen many specialists including a sleep specialist, cardiologist, endocrinologist, neurologist, rheumatologist, POTS specialist, functional medicine doctor, chiropractor, acupuncturist. While many think it is possible, not one of my medical records from traditional doctors state it as a cause. I was hit with a brick wall of resistance and given the standard “it is possible, there’s a lot we don’t know” from nearly every one of them. I have had many labs done checking for abnormalities. I have had an EKG, holter monitor, ultrasound to check for DVT, ultrasound of my thyroid, EMG, EEG, echocardiogram, chest X-rays, stress tests, MRI with and without contrast, CT scans all with minimal answers. Doctors are willing to treat the symptoms, but do not understand the mechanism that is happening in our bodies. I have been diagnosed with temporal seizures, mitral valve regurgitation, inappropriate sinus tachycardia and other than that it is just a collection of symptoms.

Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?

I have reported to VAERS. I received a call from them in June that my information had been erased due to their system needing to be rebooted due to a high volume of reports. I have only received a confirmation email from them. No follow up calls, no permanent case number.

Q: Has anything helped, and have your symptoms improved?

Time and rest have been the only things that have seemed to help thus far.

Q: What do you wish others knew?

I wish that others had a greater understanding of the adverse reactions that can occur with this vaccine, that doctors do not have a way to fix the damage that’s occurred, that there is nothing in place to assist you should you have a reaction.
