Justin Hunstad

First Dose of Pfizer in October of 2021

Winnipeg; Manitoba, Canada

40 yrs old

Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

I was very physically active, hard working and grabbed all the overtime I could during the pandemic.

Q: Would you like to share your reasons for getting vaccinated?

My job required the vaccine. I felt I was least likely to be hurt by covid, but felt it was my duty to help out in the hospital.

Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

I work in healthcare. The covid vaccination was being pushed hard by our administration. Being able to work without the vaccine was being made difficult and eventually was mandatory. Against my better judgement I decided to take the vaccine. Six months after vaccination, I had a seizure. I ended up in the ER. An MRI was done that revealed I had a brain tumor of 4.5cm. It was a benign brain tumor that was known about for a long time. It had double in size since the vaccine and was threatening my life. I had to undergo a brain resection to save my life. I am now off work awaiting my sickness benefits. Ironically the vaccine caused me to miss more work and leave my hospital one staff member short during this covid pandemic.

Q: Tell us about any tests, diagnoses, and/or medical care:

Brain resection, MRIs, anti-seizure medication

Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?

I've reported it to anyone that would listen. No action has been taken other than my union fighting for the right to refusal without losing employment.

Q: Have you had Covid before? What was your experience if so?

Never tested positive for covid.

Q: What do you wish others knew?

I wish others knew this is not 100% safe and effective.
