Holly Jenkins, Registered Nurse

First Dose of Pfizer on 12/28/20 Lot #EL1284

Hawaii

Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

I was a healthy, 36 year old, registered nurse. I had 20 month old baby and a 5 year old at home. I was a happy and healthy operating room nurse. I didn’t take any medication, I am 5’3 125lbs. The vaccine has taken everything from me.

Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

Within 24 hrs I had a “sloughing type rash from the corners of my mouth, nose and eyelids. The rash spread over 5 days. 48-72 hours later I had intense muscle spasms that woke me from sleep in the arm I got the shot. It wasn’t painful at first but once the spasms stopped that’s when the pain started. For 8 weeks I had severe nerve pain that involved all the nerves of the arm hand and even my upper chest, air pit and scapula. 4 weeks later, while arm pain was still present I had severe electrical sensation jaw pain. This pain last 3 weeks and I couldn’t even make my cheek muscles work. It was as if, the muscles were paralyzed. After pain stopped in arm, scapular winging and neuropathy. Loss of visual acuity In left eye showed optic nerve inflammation and damage. I had severely slowed left hand movement and lack of lifting arm to the side with severe weakness and loss of range of motion. Cardiac arrhythmias became very frequent though I never had them before. I wore a heart monitor for 2 weeks which showed 5% of all heart beats are now abnormal. PACs, PVCs, episodes of SVT and even Vtach where on my 2 week monitor. I have since been medicated for the heart issues. I have been diagnosed with long thoracic nerve palsy, cardiac arrhythmias, Bradycardia, SVT, presumed Encephelomyelitis (inflammation of brain and spinal cord, and movement disorder. I have episodes of involuntary movements that affect only one side of my body. I feel foggy, incredibly fatigued and my head is constantly buzzing. The movements are worse some days but they are always present. If I’m tired or really emotionally stressed they are worse.

Q: What is your life like now, after getting the vaccine?

Everything has changed. I am trying my hardest to continue working, but I am so tired and feel foggy. Physically and mentally I'm broken. I have lost depth perception and function of my arm and body. I have chronic pain under my scapula and spine. I can no longer interact with my family or children the way I used to. It’s very difficult just putting my hair in a hair tie. I can’t lift my arm out to the side beyond 90 degrees. I have lost vision in my left eye. I suffer from continued heart palpitations and dangerous rhythms. The movement disorder has made every life activity a challenge. I have a physical deformity of my scapula and chronic headaches and nerve pain.

Q: Share your experience with any medical care and any diagnoses you have received:

Encephelomyelitis, optic neuritis, long thoracic nerve palsy, anascaria, parsonage Turner syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias (pac, PVCs, svt, vtach, bigemeny, bradycardia) for which I’m medicated for. Chronic nerve pain, movement disorder. Hemichorea/ hemiballismus

Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?

Pfizer, VAERS, CDC, FDA, osha, company union, hospital facility Human Resources and infection control.

Q: Is there anything that has helped, and have your symptoms improved?

The cardizem has helped but I still have breakthrough SVT which may need ablation

Q: What do you wish others knew?

I am pro science and pro health. I’m pro choice for any health decision. It’s almost as if everything that has happened to me happened to someone else. I have had doctors laugh and joke that I must “ now be anti-vaxxer”. To hear this,as a medical professional, and patient who is true Lt suffering is unacceptable. There is no excuse to put a person suffering into a position that they then need to defend themselves by their doctor. I’m pro saggers and would longer any physician to view my medical records. Me and my husband wanted more children but not after this, my heart can’t take anything more than just me trying to survive. This has completely and drastically changed every aspect of my life.

I want people to know these reactions can happen and until the healthcare community recognizes these adverse reactions, human suffrage will continue.
