Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?
Healthy other than some musculoskeletal injuries.
Q: Would you like to share your reasons for getting vaccinated?
We lost our mother to Covid in early 2020 due to ignorance and malpractice at the skilled nursing facility where she was a resident. "Covid killed Mom, so you need to get vaxxed" is what I heard from a sibling who is also a cardiologist. We hardly speak anymore.
Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

3 weeks after dose #1, my R knee swelled, filled with fluid. Actually limped into vax clinic to receive Dose #2. Same clinician administered dose #2. Told me to seek medical attn for the painfully swollen knee. Almost same time frame after dose #2, L knee did the same thing. I was tested for a myriad of things with no definitive results. Xrays were also inconclusive. Both knees still hurt and I also now suffer from tinnitus, migraine aura, skin lesions and rashes. Both feet/ankles also became inflamed, unable to walk or put any weight on my feet. This condition was spaced out over a 2 month period, same as the knees, but months later.
Q: What is your life like now, after getting the vaccine?
Still struggling with pain in my knees, rashes, tinnitus, migraine aura. By the way, I do not suffer from migraine headaches, but the auras blur my vision. Waiting for new symptoms to surface which adds to my anxiety.
Q: Share your experience with any medical care and any diagnoses you have received:
See response to reaction, symptoms above. Had to shell out over $1,100 for diagnostic services for both provider visits. Health insurance wont cover those services. State Dept of Health won't help either. Been reluctant to see anymore providers as any further diagnostic services will not be covered by health insurance.
Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?
I have 2 claims with VAERS which I update anytime new symptoms arise. Began the claims process with CICP last Sept. What a battle that has been. Have also sought help from local legislators and a US Congressman's office in my home state. Everywhere I turn I hit brick walls. Governor's office has not responded to multiple emails and phone calls either. It's like nobody in charge cares.
Q: Is there anything that has helped, and have your symptoms improved?
R.I.C.E. and OTC meds helped a bit with knees and feet/ankles but miraculously the symptoms went away overnight after a week of suffering. Nothing has helped with the other symptoms. Some days are better than others.
Q: Have you had Covid before? What was your experience if so?
Yes, I was infected a little over 3 weeks ago with Covid. State Dept of Health refuses to tell me which variant it was. PCR test was done at a D of H drive up facility in my town. I had just about every symptom that I was told to expect but never ran a fever the entire time. It is hard to breathe sometimes, but anything physical outdoors in the cold is especially difficult. Sense of taste and smell slowly returning. OTC meds helped with respiratory congestion. Vit C boosted to 2,000 mg helps as does daily 50mg Zinc.
Q: What do you wish others knew?
Ask your doctor and do some homework. These vaccines do not work for everyone and many people have suffered severe adverse reactions, even death.
