Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

Relatively good health with the exception of degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and metabolic disorder. Exercised daily. Work full time. Active with family and friends.

Q: Would you like to share your reasons for getting vaccinated?

I wanted to do whatever was necessary to end the pandemic. I wanted to prevent getting Covid and passing it on to my family. I have an 83-year-old mother in which I wanted to protect as well and 15 grandchildren. I felt it was the right thing to do.

Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

Following 2nd dose, immediately started having racing heart (Tachycardia), elevated blood pressure, bouts of dizziness, extreme brain fog and memory loss, muscle weakness on the right side of my body. Stroke like symptoms. Sometimes even unable to speak clearly or formulate words in proper order.

Q: What is your life like now, after getting the vaccine?

Constant loud ringing in my ears, bouts of confusion, feeling dizziness come on where I cannot stand up and must lie down. Extreme fatigue, depression and anxiety, increased weakness in the right side of my body, fall a lot. Fell off my deck due to dizziness. Now using a cane intermittently. No longer physically active or exercising daily. Still have racing heart and skipped beats that come on suddenly, then resolve. Nausea.

Q: Share your experience with any medical care and any diagnoses you have received:

University of Md. Hospital Emergency Room visit 5/31/21. Admitted via the ER 6/1/21. Diagnosis was Transient Ischemic Attack. Respiratory: Positive for chest tightness. Negative for cough and shortness of breath. Cardiovascular: Positive for chest pain. Gastrointestinal: Positive for nausea. Neurological: Positive for speech difficulty, weakness and headaches. Psychiatric/Behavioral: Positive for confusion. These symptoms continue.

Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?

I reported this to the VAERS system and never heard from them. I reported this to my PCP and other physicians. No one will acknowledge this is even potentially related to the vaccine.

Q: Is there anything that has helped, and have your symptoms improved?

The weakness, brain fog, ears ringing is constant. The heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure and heart skipped beats is intermittent. The dizziness is aggravated by reading or using my "eyes" to concentrate on anything. This is affecting my job as I work in computer programming.

Q: Have you had Covid before? What was your experience if so?

I had Covid virus December 27th, testing positive on December 29, 2021. I was very ill. It took a month to recover. The cough, chest pressure and difficulty breathing lasted a full month. Fever of 101.8.

Q: What do you wish others knew?

I believe the vaccine should be a medical choice. Right now, my employer has told me I must get the booster, or I will be fired as of March 31, 2022. I have never recovered from the 2nd Moderna dose. I am terrified to get a booster. I am extremely depressed that I will lose my income and most likely my home just because I am afraid of dying if I get the booster after what I'm experiencing already from the 2nd vaccine. Yet no one will help or defend me. I have nowhere to turn.
