Adyn Callaghan, 17 years old

First Dose of Pfizer on 09/18/21

New Zealand

Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?

I was active, social and happy.

Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?

Within 48 hours, I had slurred speech. For 4 days, I had symptoms of head injury - confusion, dizziness, and difficulty talking. The 2nd week I had chest pain, tremors, purple hands, difficulty seeing, felt faint, slurred words, confusion, and my pupils were different sizes. My blood test showed my platelets at 838.

Q: What is your life like now, after getting the vaccine?

Because I am still considered "Unvaccinated" with no Vaccine Pass - my social life is restricted.

I take:

Asprin 2x a day - 200mg

Blood tests every 3-4 weeks

Chemotherapy recommended

Q: Share your experience with any medical care and any diagnoses you have received:

I was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia (ET) - a rare blood cancer.

Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?

I reported to Medsafe and the Health & Disability Commissioner. ID Numbers were issued, but otherwise there was nil Response. My GP & Specialist will not link the Pfizer vaccination to the cancer.

Q: Is there anything that has helped, and have your symptoms improved?

Aspirin

Q: What do you wish others knew?

That Pfizer can cause clotting. My blood cancer is a clotting cancer. My bone marrow now over-produces platelets.

Well done on reporting your issues, it does take bravery, and your story will have an impact for the good. I hate reading them as they are so tragic, but the truth must be told. Adyn, I will say a prayer for you.

So sorry to hear of your complications. My 17 year old daughter also had a severe life threatening reaction to the pfizer vaccine as well.
